No events saving, thumbnails etc, 0kb used

Post by cchk » Wed Jan 20, 2021 9:32 pm

Hi,

I've upgraded to 1.35.16. I am now unable to see any of the following;
- Saved recordings
- Thumbnails
- Sizes against records and used space

I can see it starting events, but none of them are actually saving anything. I've looked at the folder under /var/cache/zoneminder/events where it is creating event ID's but not storing anything in each.

I have done both upgrade and update on Ubuntu 20, I have recreated the cameras with new names, checked permissions contain www-data and now i am unsure where to go next. Any advice would be helpful!

Permissions on folders
drwxr-xr-x 2 www-data www-data 4096 Jan 20 21:08 5065
drwxr-xr-x 2 www-data www-data 4096 Jan 20 21:10 5066

Version: v1.35.16

ZM does see the amount of storage free as well.

example camera overview.

Check your logs (on the filesystem) for clues.

If a table hangs at "Loading please wait..." then the Ajax call to retrieve the data from the database is failing. Look in your browser log for clues.
Also, clear your browser cache.

This is in addition to the logs saved to the filesystem as @Magic919 mentioned.

I can confirm these events all started working on there own, no idea why, but it did :?

I still cannot see the system log, although not a massive issue right now. Its not a browser issue...i will have to take a look at the local logs.

To test whether or not the problem is caused by your machine running too slow, increase WEB_H_AJAX_TIMEOUT under options to something very large like 20 seconds then see what happens.

I have the same problem and this happens when i use a filter Purge when disk full. This filter is set to 50% on my side. But when I reached the 50% it clears only the database but the images still remains on disk. So the filter becomes in a loop if something is recorded it reach always more then the 50% because the images are still on disk, so it clears the database again.

Doesn't sound like the same problem at all. Do you have fast deletes on? Should be off.
